Villa Louis is located on the seafront of the Normandy coast, in Lion-sur-Mer.
The house is an original villa built in 1868 by the daughter of composer Auber, who was director of the Paris Opera under Napoleon III. Villa Louis was also a casino before being converted into a private residence in 1903. Inhabited since 1964 by a family of artists, its decor is a motley mix of art nouveau architecture and impressive bric-a-brac.
