The yellow room is the house's small "cheap" room, in case the larger sea-view rooms are already booked or if you want to save your pennies. nevertheless, as with the other rooms, you'll enjoy the rest of the house, a 1900s villa listed as a historical monument.
breakfast included and bicycles available for sightseeing.
The accommodation
Hello, The yellow room is one of our rooms available on Airbnb.
It's the smallest and faces the street.
Villa Louis is a seaside villa built in 1864 as a casino before its transformation in 1903 into a private Art-Nouveau residence by architect Jean-Alexandre Navarre and ceramist Alexandre Bigot
Inhabited since 1964 by a family of artists, the decor blends art nouveau, contemporary art, vintage bicycles and homemade jams. The atmosphere is "holiday home" as we always have many friends over we decided to offer several of our rooms on Airbnb.
There are four rooms available, so don't hesitate to look at the other three if this one isn't available on the dates you want, or if you're looking for several rooms.
this room may share its bathroom with the corail room. both rooms are on the second floor and the bathroom is on the ground floor.
The conditions of comfort, bathroom, kitchen etc. are a little rustic, others will say authentic, it's up to you...
It is possible to use the kitchen, and a fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker and kettle are available in the rooms
The room is furnished and equipped with a double bed. It is south-facing and enjoys the sun all afternoon.
It's only a few meters to the sand as we're also in the heart of the village, all the shops (bakery, pharmacy, restaurants, bar, supermarket) are nearby, it's possible to park your car in the streets around the house, bicycles are available for walking or shopping.
If you arrive by train in Caen, the Twisto bus line 12 or 12 express will take you directly from the station to the house in 45 minutes (all timetables are on twisto dot fr)
Like Dauville and Cabourg, Lion sur Mer was one of the first seaside resorts to be built in the 19th century, and the villas on the Lion sur Mer / Hermanville seafront are a fine architectural ensemble built between 1860 and 1914 (brochure itinéraire du patrimoine n°125)Activities There's a sailing club, a tennis club, and many D-Day-related sites and museums to visit in the area.
For my part, I'd advise you above all to enjoy the beach, the countryside and the local specialities, seafood, fish, crème fraiche, for which we have some good addresses...
PETIT DEJEUNES, BICYCLES, DRAPS and TOWELS provided!
Traveler access
We usually welcome you via the street-side entrance, but you can also use the "sea-side" entrance to go straight to the beach...
Once at the house, you can do everything on foot (or by bike), with restaurants, bars and shops close by. All parking spaces in the area are free, and there are several municipal parking lots nearby.
During your stay
We live in the villa with my family, so I'll be close by if you need anything, and we prepare breakfast, so coffee? tea? chocolate?
